the industry. The winner will be announced at the conference dinner on 20 September.
To make a nomination send the following to Peter Whitehouse peterw@nzwwa.org.nz (DDI: 04 495 0895):

The water industry is no exception and the annual NZWWA Trade Waste Conference is the best opportunity to network, learn and focus on these issues from a trade waste perspective. Come and listen to speakers with a broad range of backgrounds from all over New Zealand.

Conference Theme – Water and Land
New Zealand’s water resources are set to come under increasing pressure in the future after a significant growth of water allocation in the last twenty years. Pressure on water resources follows pressure on land use as water quantity and water quality are linked to our use of the land.
This conference is an ideal opportunity to discuss the science and management of water resources, and management of land, in New Zealand.
For more information including details about the call for papers, trade displays, meetings, workshops and field trips contact Diane Tilyard didi@xtra.co.nz
Manukau Water Limited is a commercial company, 100% owned by Manukau City Council. Our mission is the provision of high quality and cost effective water and wastewater services to the people of Manukau.
This is an opportunity for an Electromechanical Engineer to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is the cost effective operation of the water and wastewater pump station systems, including budgetary control and ensuring public health and environmental compliance. This has to be done within the context of best practice asset management, including the use of KPIs to measure and evaluate the performance of the maintenance contractor and demonstrating ongoing delivery of efficiencies and continuous improvement. This role also entails maintaining and operating the computer suite of SCADA monitoring, and managing the radio telephony and repeater networks.
To be successful in this role, you will have a BE in civil/mechanical engineering and an in depth knowledge of and experience in the practical operation of municipal gravity and pressure systems.
